United linked with Otamendi

Manchester United’s summer spending was around €85 million as they signed: Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao but even with all of those high profile players, Manchester United have still struggled trying to connect a string of consistent triumph and performances.
They started off the season by losing against Swansea City and it wasn’t until September 14 when the side of Louis van Gaal managed to secure their first triumph of the campaign by defeating Queens Park Rangers but things once more fell apart when Leicester City overwhelmed them and won their match with a final scoreboard of 5-3.
The attacking department of Manchester United is probably one of the best in the entire Premier League as they have: Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria. That’s a list of world class players that Louis van Gaal has at his disposal but the same cannot be said in the defensive side of the team after Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic left Old Trafford no player has been able to replace those titans.
Manchester United is now being rumored to be interested in signing Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi. Otamendi is a 26 year old Argentinean defender who has also lured the attention of Chelsea and Manchester City.
Even the former player of Manchester United, Gerard Pique is being rumored and linked with a return to Old Trafford as the club is searching all around trying to find a way to reinforce their defensive area which has conceded 9 goals in 6 Premier League matches.
Whatever the price may be, money is not a factor for Manchester United as they have already shown to be willing on offloading huge amounts of cash in order to reinforce the squad. The January transfer window is over 2 months away from opening but Manchester United is already being linked with a number of defenders and this is just how bad they need to sign some solid figures in the backbone of the squad at Old Trafford.
