Premier League leaders Chelsea have set their sights on a move for highly rated AS Monaco midfielder AurelienTchouameninext summer. This is according to the report from French publication Le Parisien which stated that the reigning Champions League winners want to sign the French national team player when the transfer window for next summer resumes.
Tchouameni, 21, has enjoyed a meteoric rise since moving to Monaco from fellow French team Bordeaux for £16m a few years ago. He has become a key player for a Monaco side who fought for the league title last season in the French top flight. Tchouameni was named the best young player in the French Ligue 1 at the end of last season as he was rewarded for his impressive performances in the colours of Monaco.
Monaco star Tchouameni was recently part of the France team that won the UEFA Nations League title in Italy. He was a starter in the final as France came from a goal down to beat Spain 2-1 to claim the title. Real Sociedad player Mikel Oyarzabal gave 2010 FIFA World Cup winners Spain the lead before goals from Karim Benzema and KylianMbappe turned the game on its head in favour of the reigning World Cup winners. All the three goals in the UEFA Nations League final came in the second half.
Monaco teammate Cesc Fabregas was asked about Tchouameni recently on Twitter and he said the young French player has the making of a complete midfielder. According to Cesc Fabregas, the Chelsea target is a modern midfield player. Cesc Fabregas has been impressed with what he has seen in close quarters at AS Monaco.
Chelsea are not the only team in the chase for Tchouameni. Apart from the West Londoners, Liverpool and Manchester United are also keen on the player from the Premier League. He has also been linked with a move to Juventus in the Italian Serie A.
